GT @ Miami (-5.5) – GT had 472 rushing yards last year; my guess is 471 this year.  The Yellow Jackets roll after a lackluster performance last week.

Boise State (-7) @ Fresno State – Tough pick for this Friday night game but it will be a HUGE game in the Valley; I’ll go with Fresno State.

ECU @ UNC (-7.5) – Is there any way that Kenan Stadium can explode during this disaster of an event?  I guess I’ll ECU

Tennessee @ Florida (-29.5) - Even though Lane pissed off Urban I still think they should be able to cover -29.5.  Take the Vols

Nebraska @ Virginia Tech (-5) – VT at home versus Nebraska.  I am going to have to go with the Hokies on this one.

UGa @ Arkansas (-1.5) - Richt as a road dog.  Take it all day long!

WVU @ Auburn (-7) - The SEC versus the Big Least.  This one shouldn’t even be close.  Take Auburn.

Texas Tech @ Texas (-17.5) – Revenge factor and Colt being a senior.  I will take the Horns just because of Kirk and the Gameday commercial.

Cincinnati (-1) @ Oregon State – The Beavers at home have been great even taking out the mighty Trojans last year.  I’ll take them as a home dog any time.  Take Oregon State

North Texas @ Alabama (-38.5) – We all know that I love UNT because it only takes a C in the front of their name to make things interesting.  Take the Mean Green.

Week 2 Picks with Commentary

Clemson @ Georgia Tech (-5) – Going withe the offense that will never work in big time football.  Well, the ACC isn’t big time football so I guess the 45 dropped on UGa last year proves it.  Take GT.

Notre Dame (-3.5) @ Michigan – Notre Dame looked really good last week against a Nevada team that is not bad.  I’m going to go with the heavier coach on this one.  Take the Irish

UNC (-3.5) @ UConn – The ACC/Big East Challenge should be fun to watch, oh wait, thats right, its the ACC and Big East in football, what a joke!  Take UConn just because I hate UNC worse than dingleberries.

UCLA @ Tennessee (-9) – What we learned last week is that if you have coached under Pete Carroll your team is going to be pretty damn good.  Take the Vols and the Kiffens.

South Carolina @ UGa (-7) - Two teams that combined for 17 points last week.  My guess is that they will combine for 11 this week.  Take Spurrier in a close loss, 6-5.

ECU @ WVU (-6.5) – Just because Walgreens is littered with ECU grads and I don’t think a sheet of colored paper from EZU should count as a degree; I’ll take WVU!

Duke @ Army (-1.5) – Make sure to tune in to this barn burner.  There will not be a more exciting game this Saturday.  Sigh.  I guess I’ll take the Knights.  The better question, Over/Under attendance – 11,000

USC (-6.5) @ Ohio State – USC will cover this with their defense as they do every game versus the Big 11.  Nice try Buckeyes but its never gonna happen.  Pete and the Trojans rolllllll.

Troy @ Florida (-37) – Urban will have the boys ready but they win 35-0.  Take Troy

Mississippi State @ Auburn (-14) – Dan Mullins > Gene Chizik.  I’ll take the Bulldogs from Starkville in this one.

South Carolina @ NC State (-5) – This went from NC State being a 3 point dog to a 5 point favorite.  I still like Russell Wilson and the Pack at home, Take NCSU

Oregon @ Boise State (-4) – The smurf turf will prove to be the difference as Oregon comes out in Green on Yellow on White on Green on Yellow on Yellow on Green on White with black cleats.

Navy @ Ohio State (-22) - The 22 gets me here, I would take THE Ohio State is it was -20.5 but they will win by exactly three touchdowns, take the Midshipmen

UGA @ Oklahoma State (-5.5) – Take Oklahoma State because IM A MAN!

BYU vs Oklahoma (-22.5) – Oklahoma will wow the new Cowboys stadium with 70 in this game; take the favored Sooners, they will win by 30.

Nevada @ Notre Dame (-14) – I am taking the Wolf Pack, notice the space, just because Dr. Lou thinks Notre Dame is going to win the national championship.

LSU (-17.5) @ Washington – I rarely take a road favorite but I cannot think of any way that Washington gets past the 50 in this game, take the Bayou Bengals.

Alabama (-6.5) vs. Virginia Tech - I love Frank Beamer as a dog at any time.  I think Saban has things rolling at Alabama but VT covers the spread in this one.

Illinois (-7) vs. Missouri – Two words, one coach – Ron Zook.  Take Missouri

San Jose State @ USC (-33.5) – I have to take the Trojans to win this one by 52.  They will score every possible way including a touchdown by Will Ferrell on the sidelines.

Whole life insurance also known as “permanent” or “straight” life insurance is one of the most applied forms of insurance. This life insurance policy covers one’s entire life. This is much in demand because of its ability to provide financial protection and accrue cash value and pay dividends to the insured. In other terms, you can say it as an investment, that you make to secure your future build up finance that helps you in your indigence.

Taking a whole life insurance policy leads to a number of benefits and advantages. Few of them are listed below.

1. The first advantage is The Death Benefit.

The whole life insurance policy guarantees you the death benefit that never decreases. Moreover no federal income taxes are charged upon death. And if you desire, death benefit can be taken as a monthly income instead of a lump sum.

2. Consistency of premium level.

Unlike term life insurance’s premiums, which increase at the time of renewal, the premium you pay in whole life insurance remains consistent. There’s no increase. However, use of dividends can minimize the premiums that you pay and contracted for.

Home Equity Loan vs. Second Mortgage

If you own your home and need a loan for whatever reason you have probably considered a second mortgage or a home equity loan to help you pay your bills, buy a new car, or pay for some other investment. However, you probably don’t know whether a second mortgage is better or worse than a home equity loan for your particular situation. However, don’t despair because there are some tips that will help you decide whether a second mortgage or home equity loan is for you.

Second Mortgage Tip #1 One Time Expenses

A second mortgage is the preferred option if you have a one time big expense you need to cover. Examples of this include remodeling your kitchen, paying for a wedding, or buying a new car. In these instances a second mortgage will probably work best for you; however this will depend on the equity in your home and your credit score.

Second Mortgage Tip #2 Recurring Expenses

If you are going to have recurring expenses then you might not want a second mortgage because a home equity loan will work out better for you. The second mortgage is best for large amounts of money at once while recurring expenses like tuition are better paid for with a home equity line of credit.

Second Mortgage Tip #3 Repayment

You will also need to consider your ability to repay and which option will suit you best. A second mortgage can be financed similarly to your first mortgage, while the home equity loan can be paid back more like a credit card. Consider your financial position and ability to make monthly payments before applying for either a second mortgage or a home equity loan.

If you still don’t know whether a second mortgage or home equity line of credit is for you, then talk with your lender and see what is recommended for your equity, creditFind Article, and ability to repay the loan.

Home Mortgage Refinance Rates Remain Stable in August

August 5, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Uncategorized

Home mortgage refinance rates have remained quite stable since the beginning of July.  When July began, we saw mortgage rates around 5.1%.  The highest we saw interest rates move was to 5.3% before moving back down.  This trend continued until the end of month when treasury yields started to sell off.  The sell off of the treasury yields pushed mortgage rates all the way down to 5.05%.  Many analysts felt that this was going to help push mortgage rates under 5% but that was not the case.

After we saw mortgage rates drop to 5.05% we saw an immediate surge in treasury yields in the early part of August.  Since this surge in treasury yields, we have seen the 30 year fixed mortgage rate move all the way back up to 5.3% which is the upper end of the trend channel.  The interesting thing to see will be if mortgage rates push above this upper trend channel and move towards 6% or if they break down and fall back down towards 5.1%.

President Obama and his staff have worked very hard to keep interest rates low, so we can guess that they will continue that trend.  If you have been thinking about refinancing or getting your first mortgage, now might be as good of a time as ever as our President is trying to help us out greatly.  Take advantage of this time as mortgage rates are still very close to all time lows.

Refinance Home Loan Rates Follow Interest Rates Higher

July 19, 2009 by admin · 4 Comments

Current refinance home loan rates are following interest rates higher.  Last week mortgage rates started to move up and it looks like that will continue into this week.  It seems that unless the Federal Reserve Bank makes an announcement that they are going to buy up massive amounts of debt, mortgage rates move up.  There is a good chance that Ben Bernanke will make a statement this week that will affect average mortgage rates but who knows what way it will push them.

President Obama and Ben Bernanke have done everything in their power to keep mortgage rates below 5% but it seems like they are running out of bullets.  Sadly, this could cause home prices to fall even more as higher home loan rates will mean lower average home prices.  This might be exactly what the housing market needs to flush out the bottom and find a stabilization so home prices can state appreciating.

Overall it looks as if refinance home loan rates are going to move up this week but only time will tell how high they are going to go.  If you have been thinking about refinancing your current mortgage, it would be advisable to get that done as soon as possible as mortgage rates could be above 6% in the very near future.
