The Church of Cowherd Ax, Chapter 1
In our first chapter of the Church of Cowherd Ax, we have selected a coach who has found very little success at his program. Head Coach Chuck Long of San Diego State has an overall record of 8-24, but the record is just the surface of his problems.
Over the three year career of Long the rushing defense stats are as follows:
2006: 180.1 ypg (#106)
2007: 241.8 ypg (#118)
2008: 282.13 ypg (#119)
These numbers are quite amazing as it is yard to get progressively worse when ranked in the triple digits for rushing defense. Giving up 282 rushing yards a game is a guarantee that the season will be unsuccessful. Unless Chuck Long finds a miracle in his defensive line, he should be fired by the end of this year.
